Xiaomi MI Mix 2 enters mass production confirms CEO, teases retail box

NEW DELHI: Xiaomi has already confirmed the imminent launch of its Mi Mix 2 phablet, the highlight of which is the bezel-less screen. To keep the fans excited, company CEO Lei Jun on Weibo has given some more information about the device.

Jun has posted an image on the microblogging website, revealing the retail box of the Mi Mix 2. The flat black box will also be having a message card inside from Jun himself. The phablet however, is now shown in the images.

Jun has also announced that the Mi Mix 2 has already gone into mass production, indirectly confirming that the device will be there in abundance by the time it hits the shelves for consumers. The company has been teasing the device online. The online posts show the smartphone, indicating lesser bezels on the top and sides than the Mi Mix.

According to a recent report, which first appeared on The Verge, renowned designer Philippe Starck, who is said to be working on the Mi Mix 2, shared a video named ‘Mi Mix 2 Conceptual Product Design WIP’ on his official Facebook page.
As per the video, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2 will sport even thinner bezels than its predecessor. However, it should be noted that the video shared by Philippe Starck is conceptual and there may be changes in the final product when it gets launched.
Another report has indicated that the device could have a fingerprint sensor at the front below the screen. This means that the smartphone is likely to have a small chin at the bottom. However, we’ll soon know what the real deal is.
The Chinese tech firm has confirmed on its official Weibo page that it will be revealing the Mi Mix 2smartphone on September 11. For those unaware, this is a day before the September 12 iPhone launch event by Apple.
