NEW DELHI: While there may be a lot of awareness about Microsoft Xbox gaming consoles, not many know that the Redmond-based tech firm was once planning to launch an ‘Xbox Watch’. The wearable device that never saw the light of the day but has now been revealed in a couple of images shared by the suomimobiili.fi website.
From the looks of it, the watch has a square 1.5-inch display with considerably black coloured large bezels. The device is also said to come with interchangeable bands. There is a push button as well on the right side. At the back there is a magnetic connector, which probably was included for charging the device. The Xbox branding is seen on the upper side of the connector.
It has been reported that Microsoft, along with Xbox, developed the watch around 2013 and were planning to launch it in 2015. However, the plan never materialised and the watch was not released. Also revealed is that the images shown by the website are not the final product. Not many functions of the Xbox Watch is known but it has been mentioned that the device could transfer data between itself and a Surface device.
On a different note, Microsoft a week ago announced that the Xbox One S is available on pre-order in India on e-commerce websites such as Amazon and Flipkart along with select offline retailers. Xbox One S will officially launch in India on October 5, 2017. While the 500GB variant of the Xbox One S will be available for Rs 29,990, 1TB variant will be available for Rs 34,990.
The Xbox One S will be launching in India with the Xbox One S Forza Horizon 3 Bundle, which will include the Xbox One S, Forza Horizon 3 game, Xbox Wireless Controller and a 14-day trial membership of Xbox Live Gold.
In addition, customers who pre-order from the aforementioned outlets – online and offline — will also get Microsoft Studios’ Gears of War 4, and EA’s Battlefield 1.
